Banarasi sarees originate from the city of Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh). These are well known for the Mughal Era inspired designs in golden as well as silver brocade or Zari.
Art silk is manufactured by synthetic fibres like rayon. It's light in weight and is soft on the skin for comfort in summers.
Zari work is known for the art of weaving threads in golden and silver colours. It involves the process of twisting a flattened metallic strip, which sometimes is made from pure gold and silver.
